Spotlight on Larry Beebe

Larry Beebe, Ph. D.
Program Chair, Bachelor of Science in Applied Management Major

As the Program Chair of Franklin’s Applied Management Major and a Vantage MBA® faculty member, Dr. Larry Beebe brings a scholar-practitioner approach to management education, and is passionate about effective teaching and learning. His goal is to ensure that the Program represents the latest management and leadership theory and practice by responding to the needs of organizations in the 21st Century.


Dr. Beebe brings real-world, professional experience to his role at Franklin, with 12 years in a variety of management capacities with Ford Motor Company and U.S. Steel, and as Vice President of Operations for Great Lakes Engineering. He provided management consulting services to clients such as NASA, Greater Orlando Airport Authority, Harmon Medical Centers and Diversified Services Network.

His academic experience is equally substantial. At Webster University, an international university based in St. Louis, Missouri, he served as Chair of the Computer Information Resource and Computer Science Graduate Programs. He also served as Chair of the Information Systems and Technology Programs in the School of Applied Management at Walden University, a graduate institution offering advanced degrees online. While there, Dr. Beebe developed a B.S. in Business Administration and a Doctorate in Information Systems Management.

He also co-created the peer-reviewed International Journal of Applied Management and developed the Annual International Conference of Applied Management, in conjunction with the Journal, held in January 2006. The Journal is designed to encourage collaborative and multi-disciplinary examinations of important issues in business and technology management.

Born and raised in central Ohio, Dr. Beebe holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Science from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Business Administration from City University of Bellevue, Washington, and a Bachelor of Science in Quality Engineering. He has completed professional development programs at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the University of California-Berkeley, and the American Management Association. Additionally, he earned a Certificate in Performance Management from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business Executive Education, and is a member of the Sigma Iota Epsilon leadership fraternity.

Dr. Beebe, an avid sports fan, currently resides in Westerville, Ohio.
