History of CCA
To stay in step with the needs of an accelerated society’s use of the Internet through an online bachelor's degree completion program, Franklin established the Community College Alliance Program in 1998. The University made a significant investment in curriculum design, established a Technology Center, and staffed it with faculty, course developers and designers with experience in developing and delivering courses designed to offer working adults the opportunity to complete their bachelor's degree online -without leaving their community.

In 1999, Franklin was chosen by the U.S. Department of Education as one of 15 institutions to participate in its Distance Education Pilot Project, which set the guidelines and regulations for distance education of the future.
Balanced Learning Format
The Balanced Learning Format (BLF) is the hallmark of instruction at Franklin. Unique to our University, the BLF distributes the workload evenly over the number of weeks the course is delivered. As such, it fits well within the busy, professional lives that most of our students lead.
