Dr. Pamela K. Shay
Associate Provost for Academic Quality

Dr. Pamela Shay serves as the Associate Provost for Academic Quality for Franklin University.  She leads the institution's state, regional, and discipline-specific accreditation and authorization activities and focuses attention on assuring academic quality through assessment, teaching effectiveness, student learning services, and academic services and resources.  Prior to this role, Dr. Shay served as MBA Program Chair and in other administrative leadership positions at Franklin University.  Before coming to Franklin University she served as Associate Professor of Business and in various leadership roles at public universities and small private liberal arts colleges.  Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to develop academic programs specific to the needs of adult learners and to establish a non-profit incubator to provide a central location for several community service agencies and organizations.  She served as Director of extended university campuses and also as Director of a Small Business Development Center.  Dr. Shay has presented at conferences and consulted for education, non-profit, government, and business organizations in the areas of strategic planning, assessment and accreditation, organizational restructuring, entrepreneurial initiatives, and training programs.  Pam's research interests focus on continuous quality improvement in academics, strategic planning, and small business development and operations.
