Terry A. Boyd, Ph.D., serves as Chairperson of the Division of Graduate Studies and acting Chairperson and faculty for the MBA Program at Franklin University. Prior to teaching at Franklin, he served as Director of Human Resources for U.S. Health Corporation (currently OhioHealth) designing, implementing and administering the human resource functions. Between 1983 and 1991, Boyd filled several positions with the City of Columbus, including Executive Administrative Officer to the Director of Human Services; Administrator of the Minority and Female Business Development Office; Administrator of Community Services; and the Administrator of the Youth Services Bureau. In addition to his duties at Franklin, Boyd provides training and consulting in areas of board development, whole-brain thinking analysis and management, team building, conflict management; and human resource management. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Boyd received his under-graduate degree from Defiance College (Defiance, Ohio), and completed all of his graduate work at The Ohio State University. Dr. Boyd is a member and past President of the Board of Trustees for the Columbus Metropolitan Library system of Franklin County; Current appointee of the State of Ohio’s Unemployment Compensation Advisory Commission; past Vice Chair of the Franklin County ADAMH Board of Trustees; past Cabinet Member of the United Way Fund Raising Campaign; past Trustee of the Franklin County Children Services Board; and a member and current President of the Columbus Board of Education.
