International Student Services Director

Franklin University is seeking an individual to serve as a Director of our International Student Services (ISS) Department. This person will be responsible for directing and managing the office along with recruitment, admissions, and advising of undergraduate and graduate International students.
The Director of International Student Services will report to the Vice President for Students and additional job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

The management of immigration services, SEVIS reporting and authorization, and issuance of immigration documents for application purposes (employment authorization, change of status, reinstatement of status, extension of status, etc);

  • Supervise 2-3 employees; train employees on issuance of all visa eligibility documents (I-20, J-1,DS-2019) and advising students on legal issues related to US immigration policies and procedures;
  • Maintenance and security of all foreign student immigration files according to federal regulations and University policies;
  • Supervise University compliance with SEVP and DHS reporting requirements on foreign students in F-1 immigration status;
  • Coordinate and facilitate new student orientation and other educational, social, and cultural programs;
  • Establish and monitor enrollment goals;
  • Update and maintain all print, web-based, and website material;
  • Serve as a liaison for international student health insurance.

Candidates should be detail-oriented, with excellent organization and intercultural communication skills, and the ability to function interactively in a team environment. We are looking for a student-centered, process-oriented person with a high level of energy and a proven track record in the area of immigration and international student services. This position requires one night per week until 8:00 p.m. and an occasional Saturday. A master’s degree and supervisory experience are strongly preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required. This applicant should also be familiar with SEVIS, federal immigration laws, policies and procedures, and working with an international student population.
