Instructional Designer

Franklin University has a position available for an Instructional Designer. The successful candidate for this position will be actively involved in designing courses in collaboration with program faculty. The position has faculty status with expectations that the candidate will actively participate in design, development and assessment of courses. In collaboration with program faculty, the successful candidate will apply adult learning theory with instructional design methodology while utilizing appropriate technology to develop and design courses for baccalaureate and master's degree level curriculum for both on-line and face-to-face formats.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Training and Development, or related field; with a minimum of 3 years experience developing curriculum, training or technical documentation.

Further expectations are that the candidate possesses:
* An affinity to explore new and innovative approaches in teaching and learning
* Application level understanding of instructional design, adult learning, teaching methods and e-learning technologies
* Demonstrated progression of challenging instructional design assignments
* Excellent knowledge of issues related to e-Learning, distance learning, and learning technologies
* Demonstrated ability to work within teams and meet project deadlines
* Demonstrated proficiency with web authoring tools and internet-related technologies and course management tools.
* Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office products, graphics applications, image editing software, such as Photoshop, and web-based conferencing applications
