Reference Librarian

Franklin University is looking for an energetic, flexible, dependable, creative, self-motivated librarian to join the reference staff. Duties will include providing reference service to students and faculty, conducting bibliographic instruction sessions and library tours, participating in collection development and course design process, as well as, other duties as assigned. This position requires some evening hours and a weekend assignment within a structured rotation.

The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and be computer proficient. MLS required, but will consider a highly motivated applicant near graduation. Reference experience in an academic or large public library setting is required. Experience with OhioLINK is highly preferred. The candidate must also have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, faculty, staff and students. A high level of competence with electronic databases, familiarity with MS office, and strong on-line searching skills are necessary.

The candidate must possess a strong customer-centered philosophy and develop an understanding of, and agreement with, Franklin’s relationship management principles and University values.
