Franklin University Team Takes Second Place |
|||
|
Columbus, Ohio -Franklin University, a leader in educating adults, is pleased to announce that a team of its Vantage MBA students has received global recognition by tying for second place in the "GLO-BUS" international business competition. This year's competition - a PC based exercise - engaged 411 teams from 38 universities worldwide in a global business simulation. The contest engaged student teams competing against each other to run a digital camera company. Just like Kodak, Canon, Fuji, Nikon, and other real-world camera companies, GLO-BUS companies compete in a global market arena, selling digital cameras in four geographic regions-Europe-Africa, North America, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America. The team of Franklin MBA 760 students entered the GLO-BUS competition for the first time this year, joining both domestic and internationally based universities, such as Kent State University, Johns Hopkins University, Texas A&M, The University of Technology- Sydney, the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente, and the Universidad de las Americas Puebla. The GLO-BUS competition is a natural complement to Franklin's model of blending theory with real-world practice for the benefit of immediate application on the job. By providing a truly powerful learning experience that engages students in the subject matter of their course, students achieve course learning objectives in a manner that stresses course objectives far more powerfully than by utilizing case analysis alone. Franklin University congratulates this team, as well as the three other Franklin University teams who finished in the Top 25 for their outstanding performance on such a global scale.
