Franklin University Participates
In New Seniors to Sophomores Program

Columbus, Ohio - Franklin University, a leader in educating working adults in central Ohio, is proud to announce its participation in the Seniors to Sophomores college credit program.  Working in conjunction with the Columbus City Schools, Franklin University will receive a grant that will support the University in hosting a group of Columbus City Schools students in completing their senior years of high school at Franklin University. The pilot program will host its first group of students during the Fall 2008 trimester.

Governor Ted Strickland's Seniors to Sophomores program, one initiative detailed in his 10-year higher education initiative, provides a group of academically qualified high school seniors the opportunity to earn their senior year high school credits while at the same time earning college credits - at no cost to the student.  High school seniors participating in the Seniors to Sophomores program will then earn enough credits to enter Ohio's University system as a sophomore.

Nearly 80 grant applications were submitted and reviewed by a joint Ohio Board of Regents and Ohio Department of Education review committee.  Forty-two applicants were chosen to receive the grants.  A complete list of recipients is available at http://universitysystem.ohio.gov/seniorstosophomores/index.php.
